Raid Recall

This week's raiding has been quite successful from a tanking perspective.

A random Ulduar10 pug with some guildies has netted me Cloak of the Iron Council, Mark of the Unyielding and Shieldwall of the Breaker. This comes after a long hiatus of zero tank drops since I got Mimiron's Inferno Couplings from my last Ulduar 25 and me having been away on a trip for 3 weeks. suffice to say I am really happy with my current gear and can't wait to get back into the latest content.

And with these latest items I have ended up way under the hit cap - 168 HR - and above the dodge expertise cap - 28 exp skill - which is really an odd situation for a protection paladins. Let's see if I can pick up some hit rating tank gear or not from Ulduar 25.

Hodir 10 - from all I have seen so far in Ulduar, this fight is the most amazing. In no other boss encounter I have ever used Hand of Freedom and Every Man for Himself as much as I did for the father of the Sons of Hodir. The constant movement,watching for campfires and Frozen Blows mechanic have really endeared me to this encounter. In the beginning I wasn't expecting to tank this encounter since there was a better geared DK tank with us but said DK wanted to go dps for the fight so I obliged. While the raid impatiently waited, I went back to Stormwind and bought the mats for the frost resist gear and grabbed gems from my bank alt. Having kept the badge cloak instead of ditching it yesterday, I safely made the raid def minimum with Loken's badge. Tanking the encounter itself was fun, although the worm trash leading up to it was really frustrating since impatient dps kept pulling them. Unfortunately couldn't get the Big daddy of the Sons of Hodir down (best attempt was 900k /sadface). Hopefully we can get some more licks at this guy and the other keepers this week.

I have an Ulduar 25 run coming up on Saturday and can't wait for it. Tanking is so much more exciting than healing haha.

On the retribution side of things, Emalon 25 was a failure. The Tier 8.5 legs dropped but I lost the roll to another ret paladin in the raid. It was a sad day. It seems either the tier drops I want never drop or they drop and I lose rolls. Have only seen one helm drop from KT on 10man and my current helm was better anyways so I ended up passing on it for a guildie.

Emalon 10 was another failure. No paladin drops. Grats to the druid who got his awesome Tier 8 chest.

Will be seeing about pugging the rest of the raids this weekend with a guild Naxxramas 25. Last Laugh is a confirmed loot item for me if it drops since our warrior tank got his last week finally. Unfortunately Wall of Terror will be rolled off between us since we both have the same shield now (I had this before).
